Station not online

Charging station not online – No internet connection

Zaptec · Pro Installation Guide

What does Station not online mean?

The charging station is unable to establish an internet connection, preventing it from communicating with the Zaptec Portal or app. This can be caused by various network issues depending on whether it uses 4G, PLC, or WiFi.

Common Causes

  • Inadequate 4G/GSM network coverage
  • 4G not activated on the charging station
  • Active firewall on router/modem blocking connection
  • Internet service not functional on router/modem
  • Incorrect PLC encryption or installation wiring
  • Incorrect WiFi SSID or password
  • WiFi access point not 2.4 GHz compatible or using unsupported channels (12 and higher)
  • Hidden WiFi network not manually configured

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Verify your general internet functionality by connecting another device (computer/phone) directly to your router or WiFi network.

  2. 2

Check your router/modem for an active firewall that might be blocking the charging station's connection.

  3. 3

For 4G, confirm sufficient GSM network coverage at the charger's location and ensure 4G is activated on the station.

  4. 4

For PLC, ensure the charging station is encrypted with its associated PLC module and that the PLC is installed correctly on the same L1 and N as the charger.

  5. 5

For WiFi, double-check the SSID (network name) and password. Ensure your WiFi access point operates on 2.4 GHz and uses channels between 1 and 11.

  6. 6

If your WiFi network name (SSID) is hidden, manually enter the SSID and password using the 'Other' option in the network list.
