Fronius Primo GEN24 Inverters

17 fault codes documented

1030

Status Code 1030 - WSD Open (flashing red LED)

Status code 1030, accompanied by a flashing red operating LED, means a device in the Wired Shutdown (WSD) chain has interrupted the signal line. This could be due to a tripped surge protection device (SPD) or the bypass being removed without a trigger device installed.

1083

Status Code 1083 - Insulation warning

Status code 1083 is displayed on the inverter's user interface if the measured insulation resistance drops below the set threshold. This indicates a potential insulation fault in the PV system.

1173

Status Code 1173 - ArcContinuousFault (flashing red LED)

Status code 1173, with a flashing red operating LED, indicates that an electric arc has been detected in the PV system. The inverter has reached its maximum number of automatic connection attempts within 24 hours.

1191

Status Code 1191 - AfciDataTransfer (flashing yellow LED)

Status code 1191, with a flashing yellow operating LED, signifies that an electric arc has been identified on the PV system. This is a non-critical status for which no immediate action is required from the user.

Arc detected

Arc detected — Grid power feed interrupted due to fault

The inverter has detected an electric arc, indicating a fault on the DC side. This safety measure interrupts the grid power feed for at least 5 minutes to prevent overheating and fire risk. If multiple arcs are detected within 24 hours, the grid power feed can be permanently interrupted until manually reconnected.

Backup power overload

Backup power overload — Backup power mode stopped due to excessive load

The inverter has stopped operating in backup power mode because the connected electrical loads have exceeded its maximum power capacity. This 'Backup power overload' status code is displayed on the inverter's LED status indicator.

Red LED flashing

Flashing red LED - Backup power overload

A flashing red light indicates that the inverter's backup power function is experiencing an overload. This means too much power is being drawn from the backup circuit.

Red LED solid

Solid red LED - Critical error, no grid power feed

A solid red light on the operating status LED indicates a critical error. The inverter has stopped feeding power to the grid. This requires immediate attention.

Red LED solid (Network)

Solid red LED (Network) - Network fault, but inverter operating

A solid red light on the communication LED indicates a network fault, even though the inverter's operating status LED may show correct operation. The inverter cannot communicate with the network.

Software below 1.25.2

Software below version 1.25.2 - Inverter needs update

If the inverter's software version is below 1.25.2, it may not meet the requirements for automatic shutdown of the power supply in the event of a fault. An update is necessary to ensure full functionality and compliance.

Standby state

Inverter in Standby state — Power feed interrupted due to safety device

The inverter has switched to a standby state, meaning it is no longer feeding power into the grid and is disconnected from the AC relay. This occurs when a safety device or monitoring function, such as rapid shutdown, WSD, RCMU, insulation monitoring, or AFCI, has been triggered.

System shutdown

System shutdown — No energy from PV modules or public grid, battery inactive

The inverter and battery have switched off because no energy is available from the PV modules or the public grid. Status codes indicating the inactive state of the battery are displayed on the inverter's user interface.

White LED solid

Solid white LED - Service message present

A solid white light on the operating status LED indicates that a service message is present on the inverter. This is an informational message that may require acknowledgment or attention.

Yellow LED flashing

Flashing yellow LED - Non-critical status

A flashing yellow light on the operating status LED means the inverter has detected a non-critical condition. It is still operational but may require attention.

Yellow LED flashing (setup interrupted)

Flashing yellow LED - Setup interrupted, limited power output

If the initial setup of the inverter was interrupted before completion, the operating status LED will flash yellow. In this state, the inverter feeds energy into the grid but at a reduced maximum of 500 W.

Yellow LED solid

Solid yellow LED - Inverter in standby or not configured

A solid yellow light on the operating status LED indicates the inverter is in standby mode, not operational (e.g., at night), or has not yet been configured for first-time use. It is not currently feeding power to the grid.

Yellow LED solid (Network)

Solid yellow LED (Network) - Network connection not configured

A solid yellow light on the communication LED means the inverter's network connection has not been configured. This prevents communication with apps like Fronius Solar.start or Solar.web.
