Tesla Gen Wall
14 fault codes documented
Blue solid light — Waiting to charge, communicating with vehicle
A solid blue light indicates the Wall Connector is communicating with the connected vehicle and waiting for the vehicle to initiate or accept charging.
Every green streaming — Charging in progress
All green LEDs are illuminated in a streaming or flowing pattern, indicating that a charging session is actively in progress with the connected vehicle.
Five red blinks — Group power management communication issue, charging reduced
Five red blinks indicate a communication problem among Wall Connectors in a group power management setup, leading to reduced charging output.
Four red blinks — Internet connection lost, online features disabled
Four red blinks mean the Wall Connector has lost its internet connection, which disables online features and prevents automatic firmware updates.
Green pulsing — SSID broadcasting, ready to commission
The green lights are pulsing, meaning the Wall Connector is broadcasting its Wi-Fi SSID, making it discoverable and ready for the initial setup or commissioning process.
No Lights — Power supply issue, charging disabled
The Wall Connector has no lights illuminated on the faceplate, indicating a problem with the power supply that prevents charging.
One red blink — Ground fault circuit interruption (GFCI), unsafe current path
One red blink means the Wall Connector detected an unsafe current path, causing a ground fault circuit interruption (GFCI) and disabling charging. This is a safety measure.
Seven red blinks — Vehicle overcurrent detected
Seven red blinks mean the Wall Connector detected an overcurrent condition from the connected vehicle, indicating the vehicle is attempting to draw too much power.
Six red blinks — Overvoltage or poor grid quality detected, charging disabled
Six red blinks indicate that the Wall Connector has detected an overvoltage condition or poor quality from the electrical grid, disabling charging for safety.
Solid blue light (after power outage) — Communicating with vehicle, waiting to resume charging
After a power outage, the Wall Connector shows a solid blue light, indicating it's communicating with the vehicle and waiting to resume charging. Charging will automatically restart within 1 to 3 minutes.
Solid red light — Internal fault, charging disabled
A solid red light on the Wall Connector indicates an internal fault or malfunction that has disabled charging.
Three red blinks — High temperature detected; charging limited or disabled
Three red blinks indicate that the Wall Connector has detected high temperatures. Charging may be limited or disabled to protect the unit from overheating.
Top green solid — Standby, waiting to plug in vehicle
The top green LED is solid, indicating the Wall Connector is in standby mode, fully powered and ready for a vehicle to be plugged in.
Two red blinks — Ground assurance fault, high ground resistance detected
Two red blinks indicate a ground assurance fault, meaning high resistance was detected in the ground connection, which has disabled charging.
