Jam 0

Jam 0 — Paper jam at the pickup or feed sensor

Samsung · Laser Printers

What does Jam 0 mean?

A paper jam has occurred during the initial paper pickup phase or at the paper feed sensor. This often happens when paper is not correctly loaded or when using specific paper types.

Common Causes

  • Paper is not being picked up correctly from the tray
  • Paper is stuck in the feed sensor area
  • Issue with specific paper types (e.g., envelopes) in the Multipurpose Feeder (MPF) or Manual Feeder
  • Stacker Extender is folded in when using long papers
  • Paper guide adjustments are incorrect, causing paper distortion

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Open the printer cover and carefully remove any jammed paper you can see.

  2. 2

Remove all paper from the tray, fan the papers to separate them, and reload them, ensuring they are aligned.

  3. 3

For the MPF or Manual Feeder, reduce the number of papers loaded.

  4. 4

If using long papers, ensure the Stacker Extender is unfolded and in use.

  5. 5

Adjust the paper guides in the tray to fit the paper width snugly but not too tightly.
