Compressor does not start — No heating or hot water demand, or system lockout

What does Compressor does not start mean?

The compressor may not start if there is no current demand for heating or hot water, or if the system is in a lockout period after a previous start.

Common Causes

  • No current heating requirement from the climate system.
  • No demand for hot water.
  • Minimum time between compressor starts has not been reached (short cycle protection).
  • An alarm has tripped, preventing compressor operation.

Repair Steps & Checklist
