Error 5202 – Low-pressure sensor fault

Mitsubishi Electric · PWFY Air Conditioners

What does 5202 mean?

The system detects an abnormal reading from the low-pressure sensor (4.06 MPa / 589 psi or above). The unit may continue operating by using other sensors as a backup, but this indicates a potential issue.

Common Causes

  • Low-pressure sensor failure
  • Pressure drop due to refrigerant leak
  • Torn wire coating or disconnected wire on sensor cable
  • Missing pin or contact failure on male connector
  • Low pressure sensor input circuit failure on the control board

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Check the low-pressure sensor and its wiring for any physical damage or disconnections.

  2. 2

Inspect for any signs of refrigerant leaks, which can cause a pressure drop in the system.

  3. 3

Verify all connections to the low-pressure sensor and on the control board are secure.

  4. 4

If no visible issues are found, the sensor or control board may need professional inspection.
