Error 1102 – Abnormal discharge air temperature detected

Mitsubishi Electric · PWFY Air Conditioners

What does 1102 mean?

The unit detects a discharge temperature of 115°C (239°F) or higher multiple times (three detections within 30 minutes), leading to an abnormal stop. A preliminary error code will appear on the LED.

Common Causes

  • Refrigerant gas leak or shortage
  • Operating with an overload
  • LEV (Liquid Electronic Valve) actuation failure
  • Thermistor (TH11) failure or input circuit failure on the controller board
  • Shortage of circulating water (pump flow 0.6-2.15 m³/h)
  • Clogged heat vent outlet

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Check that the heat vent outlet (located on the left side of the unit) is not clogged or obstructed.

  2. 2

Verify the circulating water supply to ensure there is no shortage and that the pump meets the required specifications.

  3. 3

Check the inlet air temperature on the LED monitor, if available, for unusual readings.

  4. 4

If the issue persists, a technician should inspect for refrigerant leaks and check the LEV operation and thermistor (TH11).
