Error 1301 – Abnormal low pressure detected during compressor start

Mitsubishi Electric · PWFY Air Conditioners

What does 1301 mean?

When the compressor starts from Stop Mode, if low pressure reads 0.098 MPa (14 psi) immediately before start-up, the operation stops. This indicates a problem with low pressure in the system.

Common Causes

  • Inner pressure drop due to a refrigerant leakage
  • Low pressure sensor failure
  • Short-circuited pressure sensor cable due to torn outer rubber
  • Missing pin on male connector or disconnected wire for the sensor
  • Failure of the low pressure input circuit on the controller board
  • Shortage of circulating water (pump flow 0.6-2.15 m³/h)

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Check the circulating water supply to ensure there is no shortage and that the pump meets the required specifications.

  2. 2

Inspect the low-pressure sensor cable for any visible damage, torn insulation, or disconnections.

  3. 3

Verify the low-pressure sensor connector for missing pins or poor contact.

  4. 4

Look for signs of refrigerant leakage, which can cause an inner pressure drop.

  5. 5

If no visible issues are found, the low-pressure sensor or controller board may need professional assessment.
