What does Continuous fill/empty mean?

The Washing Machine repeatedly fills with water and then immediately drains it without progressing through a wash cycle. This often indicates an issue with the drain hose installation.

• The drain hose is positioned too low or too far into the standpipe.
• The wall drainage system does not have a standard pipe (minimum 38 mm diameter).
