What does Charging not starting mean?

The electric vehicle charging session is not initiating. The cause can be identified by observing the charger's status indicator light.

Common Causes

  • The status indicator is yellow, indicating it's waiting for authorization to charge.
  • Authorization is not enabled or performed via the Zaptec App or RFID.
  • The status indicator is green, but the charger has an incorrect current allocation in the Zaptec Portal.
  • Vehicle not properly connected or recognized.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

If the status indicator is yellow, check your Zaptec App settings to ensure authorization is enabled, or use your RFID tag to authorize.

  2. 2

If the status indicator is green, log into the Zaptec Portal or Zaptec App and verify that the correct charging current is allocated to the charger.

  3. 3

Ensure the charging cable is securely connected to both the charger and your vehicle.

  4. 4
