F8E6 — Water Hazard (Lid Open)

What does F8E6 mean?

This fault occurs when the main control detects water in the tub and the washer lid has been left open for more than 10 minutes. It's a safety feature to prevent water spillage.

Common Causes

  • Pressure hose connection from tub to main control is pinched, kinked, plugged, or leaking air.
  • Water siphoning out of the drain hose due to improper installation.
  • Problem with water inlet valves.
  • Pressure transducer fault on main control.
  • Problem with lid lock mechanism.

    Close the washer lid securely and ensure it locks properly.

  2. 2

    Check the drain hose installation. Ensure it's not siphoning water out and is at the correct height (between 39 inches and 8 feet from the floor).

  3. 3

    Verify that the drain hose is not inserted too far (not more than 4.5 inches) into the drain pipe.

  4. 4

    If water continues to fill, immediately turn off the water supply valves to the washer.

  5. 5

    Unplug the washer for 30 seconds, then plug it back in to reset the control.
