  • Glow plug not operating correctly
  • Obstructions at the auger

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Allow the grill to complete its shutdown procedure and cool completely. Do not unplug or power off during shutdown.

  2. 2

Once cooled, power off the grill and unplug it from the power source.

  3. 3

Open the grill lid and remove the cooking grates, FLAVORIZER bars, heat diffuser, and heat baffle. Clean the cookbox and burn pot of any ash or debris, then clean the ash and grease system.

  4. 4

Plug the grill into the power source and power it on. Set the temperature to 400°F and visually inspect the glow plug at the bottom of the cookbox (it should glow).

  5. 5

If the glow plug operates correctly, reinstall all removed components. If startup failure continues, empty the hopper and check for auger obstructions.

  6. 6

If the glow plug does not glow, shut down the grill by pressing and holding the dial, then contact Customer Service for glow plug replacement.
