F-1- ˉ - Freezer Defrost Error

What does F-1- ˉ mean?

A "display error" occurs if the defrost cycle for the freezer compartment does not complete after heating continuously for more than 70 minutes. This suggests a defrost system malfunction.

• Defrost heater not functioning correctly.
• Defrost sensor malfunction.
• Control board issue (not finishing defrost cycle).

   Unplug the Refrigerator from the power outlet.

   Observe if there is excessive frost or ice buildup in the freezer compartment.

   Wait 1-2 minutes, then plug the Refrigerator back in to attempt a system reset.
