Ding-dong continuous

Ding-dong alarm sounds continuously - Door Ajar or Door Switch Issue

Samsung · Refrigerators

What does Ding-dong continuous mean?

The Refrigerator alarm sounds continuously with a 'ding-dong' tone if a door is left open for 2 minutes initially, or at 1-minute intervals afterward. This happens because the MICOM senses the door as open even if it appears closed. The inner lamp will turn off after 10 minutes of sensing door-open and won't turn on even if the door is actually opened.

Common Causes

  • Door not closed completely.
  • Water penetration into the door switch.
  • Loose or incorrect insertion of connector (CN30).
  • Faulty door switch itself.
  • Food or other items interfering with the door gasket.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Ensure all Refrigerator doors are completely and firmly closed.

  2. 2

Check for any food items or obstructions blocking the door's seal or gasket.

  3. 3

Verify that the connector CN30 at the Main PCB is correctly inserted.

  4. 4

If manual operation or defrost is active, cancel it.

  5. 5

If the problem persists, the door switch or Main PCB may require inspection.
