The Water Filter indicator is illuminated or blinking, usually red, when you open the door. This serves as a reminder that the water filter needs to be replaced after about 6 months or 300 gallons of water.

   Shut off the main water supply line.

   Turn the filter cartridge knob 90 degrees counterclockwise to unlock and pull out the old cartridge.

   Insert a new Samsung-provided or approved filter cartridge and turn the knob clockwise to lock it.

   Press and hold the Ice Maker button on the main panel for 3 seconds to reset the filter lifecycle detector. The indicator will turn off.

   Open the water valve and run water through the dispenser for about 7 minutes to remove impurities and air.
