NIBE · Heat Pumps

What does 12 mean?

The BT12 sensor, which measures condenser return temperature, is not connected or defective. If the supply sensor (BT2) is also missing, both heating mode and compressor in hot water mode will be blocked.

Common Causes

  • BT12 sensor is disconnected or has poor contact.
  • The sensor unit is faulty or damaged.
  • Associated wiring is loose or compromised.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Switch off the Heat Pump's power at the main breaker.

  2. 2

Verify the connections to the BT12 sensor are secure and intact.

  3. 3

Check for any physical damage to the sensor or its wiring.

  4. 4

Restore power and observe the system status. If alarm persists, verify BT2 sensor status as well.
