E38 - Outdoor air temperature sensor anomaly

What does E38 mean?

The remote control displays E38 (while the indoor unit's green LED keeps flashing and red LED stays off). This indicates a problem with the outdoor air temperature sensor.

Common Causes

  • A defective outdoor air temperature sensor (broken wire or poor connector connection)
  • A defective outdoor unit control PCB
