6831, 6834 — Remote controller (MA) communication error

What does 6831 mean?

These codes indicate a problem with the communication between the remote controller(s) and the indoor unit. This can occur if the main or sub remote controller cannot receive signals from an indoor unit, or if the indoor controller board cannot receive signals from a remote controller or another indoor unit.

• Loose or faulty wiring for the remote controller connections.
• Incorrect wiring setup (e.g., incorrect wiring length, too many connected controllers/units, or wrong wire thickness).
• Malfunction of the remote controller's sending/receiving circuit or the indoor controller board.
• External noise interfering with the communication signal.
• Incorrect main/sub remote controller settings.

   Check the wiring connections for all remote controllers and the indoor unit to ensure they are secure, properly inserted, and free from visible damage.

   Verify that only one remote controller is set as the 'main' controller, and any other connected remote controllers are correctly configured as 'sub' controllers. Adjust settings if needed.

   Turn off the main power to the indoor unit at the circuit breaker, wait for at least 30 seconds, then turn the power back on to reset the communication system.

   If you have access to the indoor unit's controller board, try disconnecting and reconnecting connector CN3A after turning off power, then restore power.
