5701 - Contact failure of drain float switch

What does 5701 mean?

The drain float switch, which prevents the drain pan from overflowing, has detected a contact failure. This will cause the air conditioning system to automatically stop operating.

Common Causes

  • Faulty drain float switch.
  • Debris interfering with the float switch operation.
  • Loose or damaged electrical connection to the switch.

    Note the 5701 code displayed on your remote controller or the outdoor unit's LED.

  2. 2

    Turn off the main power supply to the outdoor unit at the circuit breaker.

  3. 3

    Carefully inspect the drain pan and float switch for any visible debris or obstructions.

  4. 4

    Wait at least 1 minute after LED1 and LED2 on the outdoor circuit board go out, then turn the main power supply back on.

  5. 5

    If the error persists, contact a qualified service technician to inspect and test the drain float switch.
