Weekly Timer Malfunction

Weekly timer not operating as set - ON/OFF timer, reception error, or clock issue

Mitsubishi Electric · MSZ-AP Air Conditioners

What does Weekly Timer Malfunction mean?

The weekly timer function is not triggering operations (start/stop) according to the programmed settings.

Common Causes

  • An ON/OFF timer is set, which can override weekly timer settings.
  • The weekly timer setting information was not successfully transmitted to the indoor unit (indicated by 3 short beeps).
  • The indoor unit's built-in clock is incorrect after a power failure, causing timing errors.
  • The remote controller's signal was not reliably received by the indoor unit during transmission of settings.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Check if an ON/OFF timer is currently active, and if so, cancel it as it can conflict with weekly timer operations.

  2. 2

Retransmit the weekly timer setting information from the remote controller to the indoor unit; listen for a long beep to confirm successful reception.

  3. 3

If a power failure occurred, ensure the indoor unit's built-in clock is reset and corrected using the remote controller (refer to page 5).

  4. 4

Ensure the remote controller is placed where its signal can be reliably received by the indoor unit, pointing it directly towards the unit.
