Error 2 — IPM over current or hardware failure

What does 2 mean?

The Inverter Power Module (IPM) has detected excessive current or has failed. This can happen due to overcharging, a dirty outdoor coil, or restrictions in the refrigeration circuit.

• IPM is bad
• Loose compressor wire
• Compressor is bad
• Overcharge of refrigerant
• Dirty outdoor coil
• Refrigeration circuit restriction
