Hot pump housing - Surface is scalding hot

What does Hot pump housing mean?

The housing of the Grundfos ALPHA3 pump becomes very hot to the touch. This condition is usually caused by the liquid being Pumpd, which may be scalding hot.

• High temperature of the Pumpd liquid within the system.

   Exercise extreme caution and avoid direct contact with the hot pump surface to prevent burns.

   Close the two isolating valves located on both sides of the pump.

   Allow sufficient time for the pump housing to cool down completely before any further handling or service work.

   If the Pumpd liquid temperature is unexpectedly high, investigate the heating system settings or operation.
