F2 - Condenser Temperature Sensor Error

GE Appliances · Air Conditioning

What does F2 mean?

This error signifies an issue with the condenser temperature sensor. The system detects that the sensor's reading is outside the normal range for too long, causing it to report an error and stop operation. The ODU main board LED will display this error.

Common Causes

  • Poor contact between the temperature sensor and the main board terminal
  • Temperature sensor is abnormal
  • Detecting circuit is abnormal

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Check if the condenser temperature sensor on the main board is inserted correctly into its socket.

  2. 2

Inspect if the terminal connection between the main board and the temperature sensor is loose or contains foreign objects. Retighten or clean as needed.

  3. 3

Disconnect the temperature sensor and measure its resistance to see if it's normal (refer to Appendix 1 for temperature-resistance relation).

  4. 4

Replace the temperature sensor if it's found to be abnormal.

  5. 5

Inspect if the detecting circuit is abnormal.

  6. 6

Replace the outdoor main board if the problem persists.
