E1 - Compressor high pressure protection

What does E1 mean?

This error indicates that the compressor's high pressure has exceeded a safe limit. The system will shut down to prevent damage. This is typically shown on the ODU main board LED display.

Common Causes

  • Cut-off valve of ODU is not fully opened
  • High pressure switch is abnormal
  • Outdoor or indoor fan is not working properly
  • IDU filter or air duct is blocked (heating mode)
  • Ambient temperature is too high
  • System is overcharged
  • Refrigerant line set is blocked

    Ensure the liquid valve and gas valve of the outdoor unit are completely open.

  2. 2

    Check if the air outlet of the outdoor or indoor fan motor is normal.

  3. 3

    Clear any obstacles at the indoor and outdoor air outlets or return ports.

  4. 4

    Verify the operating ambient temperature is within the normal range specified in the user's manual.

  5. 5

    If the issue persists, check the wiring of the high pressure switch and test if it works normally. Replace if necessary.

  6. 6

    Replace the outdoor main board if other steps do not resolve the issue.
