Fronius Symo Hybrid Inverter Code 309 — PV input voltage too high

Fronius · Solar Inverters

What does 309 mean?

The input voltage from the photovoltaic (PV) modules has exceeded the inverter's permissible limit. This causes a short-term interruption in feeding energy, and the inverter will attempt to restart.

Common Causes

  • Overvoltage from PV string configuration
  • Extreme cold temperatures increasing PV voltage
  • Internal inverter PV input circuit fault

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Observe the inverter to see if it successfully repeats its start-up routine and resumes operation.

  2. 2

Ensure the PV array configuration matches the inverter's voltage specifications.

  3. 3

If this status code keeps recurring, contact your system fitter to check PV string voltage and inverter input limits.
