Tub not filling but water entering

Tub not filling but water entering — Drain hose standpipe too low

Electrolux · Washing Machines

What does Tub not filling but water entering mean?

If water is continuously entering the washer but the tub does not appear to fill, it may be due to the drain hose standpipe being set too low. This causes the water to siphon out of the tub as it enters.

Common Causes

  • Drain hose standpipe is too low

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Verify the current height of the drain hose standpipe.

  2. 2

Increase the standpipe height to at least 23.6 inches (60 cm) to prevent siphoning.

  3. 3

Refer to the 'Installation' sections of this manual for proper standpipe setup instructions.
