The cooktop display shows a steady 'HE' even when the cooking zone is cold and switched off, indicating a defect in the temperature sensor.

Common Causes

  • Defective coil RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) sensor (resistance not approximately 1K ohms at room temperature)
  • Defective generator circuit board
