F15

F15 - Controller self-check failed or safety thermostat open

Electrolux · Induction Range

What does F15 mean?

This error can indicate either a failure in the oven controller's self-check process or that the safety thermostat (thermal cutoff) in the front console has tripped open. It might also signal a missing synchronization signal from the relay board.

Common Causes

  • Tripped safety thermostat (often due to cooling fan deficiency)
  • Missing synchronization signal from the oven relay board
  • Oven controller failure

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

If an E15 error also appears on the ESEC controller, verify the safety thermostat with an ohmmeter and reset if tripped, then check cooling fan operation.

  2. 2

Power off the unit, then power it on and start a 1-minute timer; if the timer doesn't count down, check for 120VAC at J4 pin 1 and 3 on the relay board, and inspect wiring between J2 (relay board) and P16 (oven controller).

  3. 3

If the safety thermostat and synchronization signal checks are confirmed to be good, replace the oven controller.
