A Storage Failure (SF) error, specifically SF 09, indicates that the slave thermostat's stored System Options #2 settings have been corrupted or lost. This includes options like High Torque Actuator, Damper Modulation, and Set Point Lockout Override. Defaults are mostly OFF.

Establish communications with the slave thermostat using the PC Command Center software.
Initiate a Device Inquiry for the slave thermostat to verify its current settings.
Perform the 'Modify Device Information' command and navigate to the System Options #2 settings.
Re-enter the correct settings for each option (e.g., High Torque Actuator, Damper Modulation Error Code Display).
Press F1 to 'Perform Update' and wait for acknowledgement to save the new settings.
Exit the configuration menu and program, then verify the System Options #2 are correctly stored.
