Whirlpool · Washing Machines
The control believes the door switch is stuck closed, preventing the dishwasher from starting. This might happen if the door was not opened between cycles, or if the switch contacts are indeed stuck.
Click steps to track your progress.
Open and close the door firmly, then press the Start/Resume key.
If the dishwasher now works, instruct the user to open the door between cycles.
Unplug dishwasher or disconnect power.
Measure the resistance of the door switch contacts while checking the mechanical operation of the latch assembly.
If the switch contacts appear faulty or stuck, repair or replace the door latch assembly and/or the door switch.
