E7 — Ionization current too low during calibration

What does E7 mean?

The burner is in a fault mode because the ionization current detected during calibration is too low.

Common Causes

  • Incorrect distance of the ionization electrode to the burner gauze assembly
  • Contamination of the ionization electrode
  • Loose or damaged connecting lead and plug-in connections for the electrode
  • Flue gas recirculation in the flue system

    Press the reset button 'R' on the boiler.

  2. 2

    Contact a qualified heating technician to check and adjust the distance of the ionization electrode to the burner gauze assembly.

  3. 3

    A technician should also check for contamination of the electrode, verify connecting lead integrity, and inspect the flue system for recirculation.
