Samsung · Air Conditioning

What does E424 mean?

This error indicates a disconnection in the 3-phase power supply cable to the outdoor unit or a blown fuse on the EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) control board. A similar 'Terminal Block Thermal FUSE error' is also indicated.

Common Causes

  • Disconnected 3-phase power cable (open).
  • Blown EMI control board fuse.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Turn off the air conditioner at the main power switch or circuit breaker.

  2. 2

Check for any visible loose or disconnected power cables leading to the outdoor unit. Do not attempt to re-wire if you are unsure.

  3. 3

If you have access to the outdoor unit's power box (and are qualified), check for a blown fuse on the EMI board, but extreme caution is advised.

  4. 4

Restore power. If the error persists or you suspect electrical issues, contact a qualified electrician or customer support immediately.
