Error 455 — Overheated IPM of Fan1

What does 455 mean?

The IPM (Inverter Power Module) for Fan1 in the outdoor unit has overheated. This is a critical safety shutdown to prevent damage to the power electronics controlling the fan.

Common Causes

  • Insufficient cooling for the IPM
  • Faulty IPM component
  • Poor thermal contact between IPM and heat sink
  • Electrical overload on the fan circuit
