What does FB1 tripped mean?

The motor protection breaker, labelled FB1, has automatically cut the power supply to the compressor. This is a safety mechanism that activates if the compressor's current draw becomes too high.

  • Electrical fault or short circuit in the compressor circuit
  • Incorrect phase sequence (especially for F1245-12 models)
  • Issues with the motor or its components

    Power off the heat pump at the main circuit breaker.

    Allow the unit to cool down completely for at least 30 minutes.

    Carefully open the front cover to access FB1, which is located behind the front cover.

    Reset the motor protection breaker by twisting its control knob to the horizontal position.

  5. 5

    Power on the heat pump and monitor its operation. If it trips again, contact NIBE service.
