Left lamp flashes 0.5-second ON, 0.5-second OFF — Miswiring or serial signal error

What does 1 (0.5-sec ON/OFF blink) mean?

The indoor unit's left Operation Indicator lamp flashes with a rapid 0.5-second on and 0.5-second off pattern. This indicates that the indoor and outdoor units are not operating and the serial signal from the outdoor unit is not being received. It can also occur if the indoor unit was previously connected to a non-low-standby-power outdoor model and is now connected to a low-standby-power model.

• Miswiring between the indoor and outdoor units.
• Loss of serial communication signal from the outdoor unit.
• Indoor unit connected to a low-standby-power model after being connected to a non-low-standby-power model.

   Turn off the main power supply to the air conditioner for at least 30 seconds, then restart it.

   Carefully check for any loose or incorrect wiring connections between the indoor and outdoor units.

   If the unit was previously connected to a non-low-standby-power outdoor unit, clear the error history by following the 'Deleting the memorized abnormal condition' procedure described in section 10-2.1 of the manual (see 'Abnormal condition memorized' entry).
