What does Outdoor unit does not operate (after relocation) mean?

If your indoor unit was previously connected to an MXZ series outdoor unit and then relocated and connected to a MUZ-AY series outdoor unit, the MUZ-AY outdoor unit may not operate correctly. This is because a memorized abnormal condition from the previous setup needs to be cleared.

Common Causes

  • Unit was previously connected to a different outdoor unit series (MXZ)
  • New connection to a MUZ-AY series without clearing previous memory.

    Turn ON the main power supply to the unit.

  2. 2

    Prepare the remote controller: Press and hold both the 'Operation select' button and the 'TEMP' button at the same time, then press the 'RESET' button. Release 'RESET' first, then hold the other two buttons for another 3 seconds. Ensure all indicators on the LCD screen are displayed.

  3. 3

    Point the remote controller at the indoor unit and press the OFF/ON (stop/operate) button. A short beep should be heard.

  4. 4

    Press the emergency operation switch on the indoor unit to delete the memorized abnormal condition. A short beep should be heard.

  5. 5

    Release the failure mode recall function by turning OFF the power supply then ON again, or by pressing the remote controller's RESET button.
