11-time blink (recall mode)

Outdoor Unit Recall: 11-time blink - Compressor synchronous abnormality

Mitsubishi Electric · Air Conditioners

What does 11-time blink (recall mode) mean?

When the outdoor unit failure mode recall function is active, the indoor unit's upper lamp blinks eleven times, then stays OFF for 2.5 seconds. This indicates a compressor start-up failure protection has activated due to a distorted waveform of the compressor current.

Common Causes

  • Loose or incorrect compressor connector
  • Issue with the inverter or compressor

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Ensure the failure mode recall function is active to observe the correct blinking pattern.

  2. 2

Turn off the power supply to the air conditioner, wait a few minutes, then turn it back on to attempt a reset.

  3. 3

Check and securely reconnect the compressor connector.

  4. 4

A qualified technician will need to check the inverter and compressor (refer to section 12-5. 'How to check inverter/compressor').

  5. 5

After troubleshooting, recall the failure mode again and press the EMERGENCY OPERATION switch to delete the memorized abnormal condition.

  6. 6

Release the failure mode recall function by turning OFF and ON the power supply, or by pressing the RESET button on the remote controller.
