Toekick Interference

Dishwasher door panel hits the toekick when opening

Miele · Dishwashers (G-Series)

What does Toekick Interference mean?

When the dishwasher door is opened, the custom door panel or the door itself makes contact with the toekick. This interference prevents the door from opening fully and can cause damage to both the door and the toekick.

Common Causes

  • Toekick is too tall or not recessed deep enough.
  • Incorrect toekick dimensions for the installation.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Carefully open the dishwasher door until it hits the toekick.

  2. 2

Unscrew and remove the toekick from its brackets.

  3. 3

Measure and mark the toekick, then cut it shorter or recess it deeper as needed.

  4. 4

Reattach the modified toekick to the brackets with the cut edge at the bottom.

  5. 5

Test the door again to ensure it opens freely without interference.
