Outside working area

Outside working area — Mower detects it's beyond the boundary

husqvarna · Automower 105

What does Outside working area mean?

The robotic lawnmower has moved past the defined working area. This can be due to incorrect boundary wire installation, interference from nearby objects, or signal issues preventing the mower from recognizing the boundary.

Common Causes

  • The boundary wire connections at the charging station are crossed.
  • The boundary wire is laid too close to the edge of the working area.
  • The working area slopes excessively, causing the mower to overshoot the boundary.
  • The boundary wire around an island is laid in the wrong direction.
  • Interference from nearby metal objects (fences, reinforcement steel) or buried cables.
  • Signal interference from another robotic lawnmower installation nearby.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Verify that the boundary wire is connected correctly to the charging station, not crossed (chapter 3).

  2. 2

Check that the boundary wire has been laid according to the installation instructions (chapter 3).

  3. 3

If experiencing interference, try moving the boundary wire away from metal objects or buried cables.

  4. 4

Place the robotic lawnmower in the charging station and generate a new loop signal via Security -> New loop signal.
