Condensate drain issue

Condensate water not draining correctly

Haier · Ductless Split Air Conditioners

What does Condensate drain issue mean?

The condensate drain line is not effectively removing water, which can lead to pooling, bad odors, or the unit failing to operate. Common issues include improper slope, blockages, or the drain line end being submerged.

Common Causes

  • The condensate drain line does not have a constant downward pitch.
  • Kinks or rises in the drain tubing creating a water trap.
  • The end of the drain line is immersed in water or the ground gap is too small (less than 5cm).
  • A bad smell from a sewer indicating a blocked or improperly vented drain.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Visually inspect the condensate drain line for any kinks, rises, or sections where water could be trapped.

  2. 2

Ensure the drain line has a continuous downward slope from the indoor unit to its discharge point.

  3. 3

Verify that the end of the drain line is not submerged in water and has adequate clearance from the ground (more than 5cm).

  4. 4

Check for and clear any visible obstructions or blockages within the drain line.

  5. 5

Ensure the piping hole opening around the drain line is properly sealed to prevent external elements from entering.
