Error Code 23 — IPM temperature too high

What does 23 mean?

The temperature sensor within the Inverter Power Module (IPM) has detected an overheat condition. This can be caused by overcharging or a dirty system.

Common Causes

  • Overcharge of refrigerant
  • Excessively clogged coil (indoor or outdoor)
  • Sensor open or shorted
  • Non-condensable gases in the system
