What does Auto switch off mean?

If a cooking level is not changed for a certain time, the zone automatically switches off. This is a safety feature to prevent prolonged operation without user interaction.

• Cooking level was not changed for an extended period (1.5 to 6 hours depending on power level).
• The hob's auto switch-off safety function has activated.
