What does EMERGENCY HEAT mean?

Emergency heat provides heating using electric resistance or a furnace. This mode is activated either because the main heat pump system has malfunctioned and heating is needed, or because the homeowner has manually selected this option. The display will show options like 'ELECTRIC HEAT ONLY' or 'FURNACE ONLY'.

• Heat pump system malfunction requiring backup heat.
• Homeowner manually activated emergency heat for specific conditions.
• Heat pump is unable to provide sufficient heating.

   If Emergency Heat was selected manually, ensure it aligns with your heating needs (e.g., using only electric heat or furnace).

   To deactivate a manually selected Emergency Heat, press the red HEAT button for four seconds and then choose 'SYSTEM IN CONTROL' or 'HYBRID HEAT™' on the display.
