Food remnants on tableware

Remnants of food on tableware - Improper loading or blocked spray/filters

Bosch · Dishwashers Series 6

What does Food remnants on tableware mean?

Dishes still have food residue after a wash cycle, which can be due to incorrect loading, blocked spray arms or filters, or an unsuitable wash program.

Common Causes

  • Tableware is placed too close together or basket is overfilled.
  • Spray arm rotation of the lower spray arm is blocked.
  • Spray arm nozzles are blocked.
  • Filters are soiled or inserted incorrectly and/or not engaged.
  • Washing programme selected too weak.
  • Tableware has been precleaned too intensely, causing sensors to choose a weaker programme.

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Arrange tableware with sufficient space between items so spray jets can reach all surfaces; avoid points of contact.

  2. 2

Check that spray arms are not blocked by tableware and can rotate freely, and clean spray arm nozzles (Page 44).

  3. 3

Clean the filters (Page 43) and ensure they are properly inserted and engaged.

  4. 4

Select a more intensive washing programme or adjust the sensitivity of the sensors (Page 12).

  5. 5

Only remove large remnants of food and do not prerinse tableware to allow sensors to detect actual soiling.

  6. 6

Ensure top baskets on the right and left are set to the same height.
