System Pressure (Low/High)

CH system pressure less than 0.5 bar or more than 2.7 bar - Incorrect heating system pressure

Baxi · DUO TEC Boilers

What does System Pressure (Low/High) mean?

The central heating system pressure is outside the normal operating range, either too low or too high. This condition can prevent the boiler from functioning correctly and may lead to system shutdown.

Common Causes

  • Low system water level
  • Water leak in the system
  • Overfilling the system
  • Faulty pressure sensor

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Check the pressure gauge on your boiler; the needle should be in the green zone, typically 1 to 1.5 bar.

  2. 2

If pressure is too low, repressurize the system using the external filling loop until the gauge reads within the correct range.

  3. 3

If pressure is too high, carefully bleed a small amount of water from a radiator using a bleed key until the pressure drops.

  4. 4

If the pressure problem persists or recurs frequently, contact a qualified heating engineer for inspection.
