Pump Fault

No hot water or heating - Boiler pump not circulating water

Baxi · DUO TEC Boilers

What does Pump Fault mean?

The boiler is not providing heating or hot water, and the circulation pump may not be operating. This prevents hot water from reaching radiators or taps.

Common Causes

  • Faulty boiler circulation pump
  • Electrical supply issue to the pump
  • Faulty main PCB

Repair Steps & Checklist

Click steps to track your progress.

  1. 1

Ensure the boiler is switched on and set to a hot water or heating demand.

  2. 2

Listen carefully near the boiler for any pump noise or vibration when it should be running.

  3. 3

Try gently tapping the pump casing (if safe and accessible) to dislodge any minor blockages, as advised by some manuals.

  4. 4

If the issue persists, contact a qualified heating engineer to inspect the pump and its electrical connections.
