E129 — Frequent loss of flame during ignition

What does E129 mean?

The boiler has repeatedly lost its flame during the ignition sequence, even with maximum correction attempts.

Common Causes

  • Faulty or dirty sensing electrode or spark electrode.
  • Damaged cable to the electrodes.
  • Insufficient gas supply or unstable gas pressure.
  • Flue gas recirculation.

    Press the 'Reset' button on the boiler for 1-3 seconds.

    Ensure the main gas supply to the property is open and other gas appliances are working.

  3. 3

    Turn off the main power supply to the boiler, wait 30 seconds, then turn it back on.

  4. 4

    If the error persists, a qualified technician should check the sensing and spark electrodes, their cables, and the gas supply.
